Description
Aloha. That’s how most conversations begin here. It’s also how many of them end. But “Aloha” doesn’t just mean hello and goodbye and love and welcome. It means more than a word can express. It’s a feeling. A way of life. “Aloha” is the idea that we are all connected to everyone and everything around us and that true joy is found in respecting this connection. And it’s in this aloha spirit that the Kona Brewing Company was founded back in 1994 by Cameron Healy and his son Spoon Khalsa. They combined their love of Hawaii and its pristine, natural beauty with their fondness for delicious, local brews, and lucky for us, their dream lives on more than 20 years later.
So try a few of them. And join us in our pursuit of aloha.

12fl oz can (part of a 24 variety pack from Costco, six x beers each, of four styles)); drank at my daughters on 10th December 2021. Murky dull orange body, no head worthy of the name. Sweet pineapple aroma and taste with juicy oranges in the background. Liked it, even though it's over carbonated and supposed to be 'Light'. The 4% ABV suits it.

Pour is more of a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a little coffee, a little roasted malt and some sugar. Flavor is some ashy roasted malt a little bitter coffee and again a bit of sugar. Pretty thin all around but going in the right direction just needs a bit more of the coffee to show up.

Very clear golden and peach coloured body with a bright glow and a thick, three to four centimetre tall, just off-white head. Aroma of tropically hops with some very light malts, a dose of alcohol, a hint of sweetness from pineapple and a dry, slightly resinous hop bite that shows through at the end with bitterness noticeable. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavours show at first with a big hit of biscuits and a dry profile with some pineapple, resin, grapefruit and citrusey qualities, but the balance from the malts seems stronger than the hops here with only a tiny bit of alcohol noticeable on the end. Aftertaste shows a lot of resinous, dank hoppy notes that don't contribute too much bitterness, but the flavours are there with a moderate level of malts, some lighter sweetness and only a touch of alcohol on the end. Overall, a decent enough pure IPA with out many nuances or trying to be 'of the times', while being more of a classic IPA with a nice enough balance and some good flavours that do come from the hops used here. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Tamura's Fine Wine in Kihei, Maui, Hawai`i on 18-August-2019, sampled at my hotel in Kihei, Maui later in the day on the 18th of August 2019.

Pint at Kukui's. Pours a clear, orange color, with a small, off-white head. The nose is pine, grapefruit peel, quinine, and toast. Dry and malty, with a sharp, abrasive bitterness. Fair.

Bottle from M, gl. køge landevej 36. This local cornerstore mini market has two fridges mostly with craft and special bere, even some good stuff. Not expensive, but one of the best selections in valby (which does not say much). anyways, hazy yellow, nearly no head. for the abv, fat malty aroma and flowery notes, a little hoppy bitterness too. aroma does not hint it's only 4.4% abv. mineral water dryness. flavor is mild, very very carbonated, malts, flowers, happy i got it cold. I think the almost buttery maltiness could make this feel flat if it was not quite cold. certanly better tasting than your supermarket macro beer, but at 35 or 37 dkk and a carls special being at 3.5dkk it better be good too. i mean. 10x up in price, no?. bottle has nice artwork, it looks sort of hawaii' ish.
