Description
Aloha. That’s how most conversations begin here. It’s also how many of them end. But “Aloha” doesn’t just mean hello and goodbye and love and welcome. It means more than a word can express. It’s a feeling. A way of life. “Aloha” is the idea that we are all connected to everyone and everything around us and that true joy is found in respecting this connection. And it’s in this aloha spirit that the Kona Brewing Company was founded back in 1994 by Cameron Healy and his son Spoon Khalsa. They combined their love of Hawaii and its pristine, natural beauty with their fondness for delicious, local brews, and lucky for us, their dream lives on more than 20 years later.
So try a few of them. And join us in our pursuit of aloha.

[At GABF 2004] A hazy orange beer with a small disappearing white head. The aroma is sweet and very hoppy, but with some alcohol making it self present. The flavor is a lovely hoppy and grassy one, though with hints of alcohol.

Bottle Pours a very light clear pale yelow, witha small white head that quickly dissapates leaving very slight lacing evidence. Aroma is a somewhat sweet fruity, light grain and yeast. Flavor is a standard pale lager with a little more character. Overall it is a bit bitter and the uninteresting flavor leaves off with a fizzy woody trailer.

Draft. This is a good balanced beer. Dark amber with a thin white head. Malts back up the citrus hops. There's a slight grassy flavor, and a little creaminess to it. Nice and drinkable.

GABF 2002: Definite chocolatey presence in aroma and flavor. Dark brown color. A certain flavor not unlike eating snow is present in the finish: weird.

This was a good one at one point, but it has definitely slipped since they started having it brewed on the mainland. Clear, bronze. Fairly dull, woody hop nose with light malts. Somewhat toasty, woody with light caramel and breadcrust malts. OK, but definitely more mainstream compared with when it first came out.
