Rogue Pilot Brewery crafts experimental Rogue brews unique from those you might find at the brewery headquarters in Newport, Ore. Head Brewer Danny Connors will continue operating the 15 barrel system in the back of the pub to innovate with new styles and flavors. The concoctions brewed by both Danny and the Green Dragon Brew Crew (working on a smaller 1 barrel system) will be on tap at Rogue Eastside Pub & Pilot Brewery as well.
Admin Note: Rogue purchased The Green Dragon in 2008. The Green Dragon Brew Crew / Green Dragon Brewing beers have their own entry contract brewed at Rogue Eastside.

Draught. Pours red with thick white head. Ringed lacing. Aroma is bready and hoppy, rather like a good rusk. There is also a sweet berry in the flavour. Long finish, sweet malt and bitter hop

Tap at Green Dragon, PDX, 22/05/13. Hazed golden amber with a thin off white head. Nose is hops, grass, pine, orange sherbet, toasted malts. Taste comprises bitter tropical fruits, citric fruit notes, orange pith, grapefruit, hops, light pine. Medium bodiment, fine carbonation, big aggressive dose of hop bitterness at the curtain call. Decent enough IPA.

Draught. Pours creamy black with beige head, like a stout. Aroma is roast malt and piney hops. Well balanced flavour between hop and malt, this more to the malty side of an IPA. Piney hop finish

Sample from firkin at the 6th Annual Rogue Firkin Fest at Green Dragon. Pours a clear dark amber color with a medium foamy tan head that dissipates steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of ripe fruit and caramel malt. Medium to full body with flavors of earthy malt, stone fruit and resiny hops. The finish is malty up front with an earthy hop aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Draught. It’s really hard to know what to make of this beer. Red pour with thick white head. Aroma is caramelly malt like a barleywine. Flavour is full and rich, like a very good barley wine. Lekker malt finish.

Draught. Pours black with off white head. Aroma is hop, the wheat seems ignored. Malty body with an hoppy coat. (What is a coat, a thick edge.) A little bit of wheat in the finish.
