Unknown vintage bottle, that I got in trade. Pours a murky, brown color, with a fizzy, fleeting, beige head. The aroma is sweet cherries, brown sugar, light anise, leather, and toasted oak. Sweet, with a very smooth, easy, tart flavor. Medium body, with an acidic, silky mouthfeel. This is a smooth, balanced, and pleasant sour. I don't know what it was like fresh, but it seems to have aged well.

Sample at Collaboration Fest on 03/19/2016. Murky amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Aroma of malt, fruit and tea. Medium body with flavors of roast malt, lemony tea and slight hops. The finish is fruity with a sweet tea aftertaste. Decent overall.

At the brewery during GABF week, 2015. Moderately hopped with lager yeast, which is prominent and noticeable. Saltless cracker, dry. The hops come through well in the aroma.

At the brewery during GABF week, 2015. I liked this. Black of course. Aroma has whiskey and brown sugar, but not so much whiskey that it overwhelms everything else. Moderately sweet and the cherry is more prominent in the flavor than the aroma. High abv is well hidden. It doesn’t have as much cherry as the best cherry stouts like bells, but this is still a good beer.

At the brewery during GABF week, 2015. Gold color. Some aroma of surprisingly, apple cider. Taste is surprisingly full of grain, but hops are in there too, giving a a little citrus character. Low carbonation and a little bitter, I thought it tasted like a fancy pale lager.
