Description
Lagabière was born in November 2012. Brothers Sébastien and Francis Laganière opened the doors of their brewery in the heart of Old St. Jean, in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Initially offering only one of their beers and a few beers, the inventory has grown rapidly, offering only locally brewed products. With a capacity of 20 beers in service, the offer is very diversified. Each recipe is original and brewed with extreme rigor. Today, after more than sixty original recipes created, Lagabière also offers a range of imported beers, quality alcohols and a homemade food menu, incorporating as much beer as possible.

(On tap @ Foires Brassicoles, Quebec City, Oct 1/21) Pours black with a small latte-coloured head. Notes of distinct oreo cookie and baker's chocolate, moderately burnt malts with a little coffee and smoke bite, moderately sweet caramel, bourbon and vanilla much more present in the nose than on the tongue, balance is moderately sweet but drying in the finish with a hint of booze warmth and roast acidity, a little barrel wood in the finish but fairly soft in terms of BA overall. Medium-bodied, somewhat oily, with soft carbonation. Solid Oreo stout for sure, not the most intensely pastry and the BA is a little uneven but an enjoyable drink.

Can, 0.473l. Aroma is citrusy, grassy, faint vinous and grainy. Pours cloudy pale golden color with quickly diminishing off-white head and sparkling appearance. Tastes refreshing citrusy, grainy, grassy and woody with slick mouthfeel. Light body, thin texture and lively carbonation in palate. Tart beery lemonade…

Pours a dark brown colour with some copper highlights. The head is warm mocha-coloured, frothy, long lasting and leaving some decent foam on the glass. Good fresh grinded coffee smell with some dark fruit roasted barley base. The taste starts off with coffee and goes into some bitterness, to come back down on dark fruits and a coffee mix. Fairly dry finish mouthfeel. Hints of infection felt here as well. Not bad except for this.

Can: Poured a cloudy/hazy yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of juicy hops notes with some strong pineapple and coconut notes reminiscent of pina colada. Taste is also a mix of floral hops undertones with some juicy hops notes and some huge pineapple and coconut notes with some residual sugar notes also perceptible. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation. Enjoyable but quite filling.

Can sourced from Beerdome and shared at home - New brewery✅ only a light hazed golden colour with a white head. Sweet with citrus fruity notes of grapefruit and lemon, touch of pineapple and melon, sweet malty, a pretty thin body, pretty sweet overall, not really doing much for me this.
