Bomber from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark gold with a slight white head. Raspberry aroma. Med body or so. Flavor is raspberry, but I'm getting honey on my lips. The bitter is from raspberries. The malt seems a bit wheaty. There may be a yeast/spice thing - hard to be sure. Decent drink.

Bomber from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours a somewhat ruddy brown with a transient, slight tan head. Aroma of bourbon, treacle and darker fruits. Med body at least. Flavor went bourbon, cherry, bourbon, treacle, and bourbon again. Wow. There's heat, but the kind that hits the nose from the inside -not so much in the mouth. Mostly this is bourbon/cherry/wood with the heat maybe holding down the malt. The flavor combo is wow! Pretty strong flavors. Quite an unusual combination that works really well. Highly recommended.

Bomber from Cap Tap. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Whiskey wafts from the pour. Not sure about coconut, but it sure smells like chocolate and rye. Med + body. There's a bit of heat, but not annoying. Flavor is earthy chocolate and rye spice; I think there's also wood and coconut, but the other flavors are so strong that it's hard to be sure. Ok. With a little time there's some coconut. This is fairly dry and rather earthily bitter. Nice.

Tap at The Davis Graduate. Pours translucent gold with a beige head. Aroma of citrus and tropicals. Med body or so. Flavor has rather roasty malt - APA thing. But the mixed fruit flavors help with that. Reasonably dry and nicely bitter. Decent IPA.

On tap at the brewery. Slightly hazed yellow with fair white head. Cereal grain aroma. Slight corn. Nothing like a delicate fruit with the subtleties of a kolsch-style beer that you would expect. This is a little like a blond ale or a pre-prohibition american lager.

On tap at the brewery. This was one of the better beers I have had from these guys...going back over a decade. Clean flavor profile. Clear orange-gold with moderate white head. Bright fruit and slight pine in the aroma. Not too bad.

16 oz can from Westholme Stores, Goring, as Deadicated Amber Ale. A attractive golden tawny colour with a tight cream head; caramel aroma with a touch of herbal bitterness; smooth caramel taste, but lacking the expected sweetness; and with a pleasant herbal bitterness leading to a biscuity finish with a touch of spice. Rather good.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Big estery aroma with yeast. Fruity ester flavor with yeast and light spice. Medium bodied. Fruity esters linger with yeast.
