Description
Allagash was founded Rob Tod in 1995. As a brewery, we strive to create some of the best Belgian-style beers in the world. As people, we make sure to enjoy ourselves along the way. Part of that joy comes from constantly pushing the sustainability of our brewing operation and making a positive impact in our community. We buy local ingredients, support local organizations, and volunteer our time and expertise to help our community flourish. Stop by some time, we’d love to show you around.

Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: pale yellow to stiff orange color with a finger and a quarter of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some sticky lace
Aroma: some peachy to grapefruity and floral hoppy tones coat some lemon, mango and funky tones and subtle Bretty/sour toned character; light cracker malt further underneath
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas to a fine tart to sweet to sour quality; finishes somewhat with the peach, floral and Bretty/sour part
Texture: light to medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper; light smoothness but also some Brett assertiveness along the tongue
Overall: pretty nicely done sour IPA I would welcome again.

Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: dark ruddy red to brown color with a finger's worth of eggshell white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: dark fruits, caramelized sugars, woody spices, sourdough bread, some acidic sour tones and a touch of funk
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas to a mild sweet to spicy and acidic sort of sour to one finely blended quality; finishes semi-funky to acidic with a subtle vinous tone and a touch of sweet
Texture: medium bodied, great as a sipper; leathery dry on the tongue but a lighter semi-crisp smoothness trying to stroll on the tongue
Overall: I say a nicely done Flemish red I would welcome again.

Bottle to thistle.
Appearance: dark chestnut red to brown color with a two and a half fingers of off-white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: sweet wood, earthy vibes, subtle peat, honey, caramel, animal cracker sweetness, dark fruits, light whiffs of milk chocolate
Flavor: clean sweetness blending the prior noted aromas together and adding in a light Belgian sort of sugars to it; finishes earthy/peaty/woody and dark fruity
Texture: medium bodied, good as a sipper; fairly smooth along the tongue; light dryness also hits the tongue
Overall: what an odd Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy, well, I guess it works, I think I liked it and would welcome another glass of this.

Bottle to chalice.
Appearance: golden orange color with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated slowly to leave some light messy lace
Aroma: Belgian sugars, banana esters, light sweet woody/barrel; clean earthy sweetness, clean wet basement, light bourbon notes and some coconut
Flavor: wraps up the previously noted aromas into a great sweet to subtle spicy and super light funk far underneath; finishes Belgian sugary with some coconut and bourbon
Texture: light to medium bodied, great sipper; some smoothness but also a speckle of dryness and yes to the "back-of-the-throat" grab telling me this is a true Belgian styled Tripel
Overall: I would say a very nicely done Belgian Tripel I would welcome again.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: dark brown very close to black color with a two finger khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: roasted malts, some Belgian sugars and Belgian yeasty spice; earthy sweet tones, treacle, dark fruits, milk chocolate, dark chocolate and a touch of coffee
Flavor: wraps up the previously noted aromas to a fine sweet to roasty quality; finishes semi-dry, earthy and dark fruity
Texture: medium bodied, great sipper; light smoothness but ample dryness hitting the tongue fairly nice
Overall: I see it's classified as a Belgian stout and well, I guess that's feasible; however, I wouldn't go as far to say this is fully a true heavy hitter of the Belgian class. Though, I believe I would come back to this.
