This is not really godt bryg it reminds me of the very first attempts at stout that I tasted from micro breweries in greece and mallorca, back when they were not really making even remotely good beer. (this has changed A LOT since then). aroma is bitter roasted malty, not sweet, which is nice, bitter nuts, bitter caramel, faint burnt plastic (which is not nice). flavor is various kinds of nutty, plastic, dark caramel bitterness, combined with a solid licorice-caramel flavor. tastes like the beer version of those long black caramel like black licorice sticks I could get when I was a kid. horrible stuff. bitterness could also resemble underripe fruit peel, or berry stones you are not supposed to eat. so.. overly bitter stout with the bitterness being herbal and artificial rather than hoppy. imagine a stout with the bitterness of an english bitter, only more of it. The recipe is an old macro brewery recipe (well, was probably macro back then, likely prioritizing volume and price over flavor) In that respect the beer is probably not *that* bad if you compare with the lower end of traditional Danish black macro beer. So... I kind of get that the interestingness of this beer is a lot higher than it's drinkability. And... I find the concept of godt bryg very interesting and entertaining, so keep them coming ;-)

Bottle @ SKAAL Sønderborg. Pours clody very dark brown with airy but stable tan head. Clear aroma of malt, yeast and caramel. Bitter, roasty flavour with sweetish notes of malt and caramel and estery and metallic touches. Bitter and estery aftertaste with roasty notes. Okay.
