Bottle bought through Systembolaget. Pours slightly hazy pale golden with a frothy white head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is tiny estery, slightly phenolic, yeasty and fruity with wheat crackers, pepper corns, hay, dry soil, grapefruit rinds, lemon zest, dry wood and grape skins. Taste is bitter, tiny eastery, slightly phenolic, spicy and slightly fruity with wheat crackers, hay, dry soil, pepper corns, dry wood, white grapes, grapefruit rinds, lemon zest, orange zest and hints of lemon grass. Mouthfeel is crisp, dry, tiny tart and light to medium bodied. finish is bitter and tiny fruity with crackers, lemon juice, lemon zest, dry soil, hay and pepper corns. Refreshing...

(Bottle) Golden colour, slightly hazy, with big frothy off-white head. Fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, peaches, mango, honey and spicy/floral hops. Fruity, malty taste with peaches, tropical fruit, honey, pears and a spicy, slightly estery finish with a light alcohol burn and a certain floral bitterness. More than medium bitterness, fairly sweet. Tasty and spicy, with the Chimay yeast character shining through. Quite nice.

Bottle. An unclear, dark golden to amber colored beer topped by a creamy beige head. The aroma is grassy and piney, rather malty too. Bitter flavor with caramel maltyness as a backdrop. Citrus peel and some grass notes. It’s full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated, finishing mostly bitter. A beer that lacks complexity and also feels a bit boring, but it’s far from bad anyway. 140307
