Pretty muddied brown and very strongly ruby tinted body with a nice, thinnish tan head that starts at about two centimetres and fades pretty quickly above the 70 per cent opaque body. Aroma of tart and very acidic cherry notes with a hint of vinegar as well, but some lighter sugars from caster sugar, toffee and raisins are here as well strongly tart and almost sour in the nose. Light to Medium-bodied; Very strong tart and acidic cherry notes dominate with a good flavour from the fruit, but not entirely tasting like fresh cherries; that being said, the flavours are nice and bring out a tart and acidic, vinegary note with some syrup noticeable and a dash of rustic earthiness, especially at the finish, with a woodsie, foeder and earthy note. Aftertaste shows some sweetness from the syrupy and figgy notes with some of the cherries soon afterwards and bringing out a tartness from the fruit at the end as well. Overall, a pretty nice, tart and almost soured beer with some real spontaneous fermentation notes along with a bit of a bretty note as well, but the fruits are strong as is the sweetness. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Joe Canal's in Lawrenceville, New Jersey on 21-December2020 for US$3,89 sampled at my house here in Washington on 09-October-2022 after running a 20mi training run with my wife in preparation for the USMC Marathon this year in a few weeks.

Draught at Firewaters, 8/18/21.
Seems like it's sat for a long time in the keg, as it's crystal clear at this point, with a rose-to-light-cranberry color and a quickly-fizzling, off-white head.
Floral notes mix with a good cake-like sweetness. Not too much in the way of hops remain, but some light citrus from both hop and orange addition is certainly present. Not too much weirdness going on, thankfully and surprisingly. Usually lactose really spoils beers as it ages.
Cake-honey-like malts sweeten but not overly so, as floral and light vanilla notes lead to moderate citrus character. There's enough acidity to balance, but it still comes off quite light, though the lactose does add additional texture. Low carbonation by this point, but the flavors are clean and elevated which is rare from this style. No alcohol, hop twang or flaw noted.

Draught at Firewaters, 8/18/21. Quite hazy, deep maize-to-brass golden with a medium-sized, moderately-well-retained white head. Nose is heavy, heavy papaya, pineapple and bubble gum with some canned peach/mandarin in there, as well. No alcohol or hop twang, but boy is this quite heavy on the intensely fruity/bubble gummy yeast character. In the mouth, it starts out how you'd like, delivering a big wallop of fruity, juicy hop and yeast notes (mandarin, peach, papaya, mango) with a soft, round, sumptuously-malted texture, but unfortunately, it never really goes anywhere approaching balanced. Just hangs on to the bubble gum and sugary papaya/mango, adding little/no bitterness/acidity nor even biscuit/cracker malt character for attempted dryness. Seems a bit underattenuated, as well. Gets cloying/fatiguing quickly, with heavy yeast character leaving undesirable ester character on the finish.
