16oz can pours an opaque black with some khaki head. Nose has pencil lead, molasses, heavy smoke and charcoal, cola, chocolate cake. Flavor is big, chewy malts, smoke, lots of black pepper, some actual bacon here, a little maple finally. Finishes full bodied, sticky, sweet.

16 ounce can. Vintage dated 2018. Barely translucent dark brown color. Brief tan head disapates quickly. Sweet roasted malt aroma. Notes of cocoa, cinnamon and coffee. Flavor is roasted malt and dark coffee. A bit thin bodied, but overall, decent flavor, with warming alcohol in finish. Lacks the richness and complexity you expect from a quality RIS.

16 ounce can. Amber orange pour. Frothy beige head is small but firm. Grainy malt nose hints at citrus. Big bittersweet notes upfront. Lots of black pepper and some dank citrus. The warming heat from the habenaro and cayenne linger the undertone. They are present, but not overtly so. Hops and peppers seem to work well together here. The honey notes are subtle and sweet. Interesting and unique. Can't drink a whole can.

16 ounce can. Number one with a bullet. Opaque dark brown, blackish pour. Dark brown head quickly disappears. Subtle roasted malt nose hints at chocolate . Sweet roasted malt flavor. Notes of espresso, licorice, dark chocolate and burnt sugar. Sticky, oily mouthfeel. Warming alcohol notes as well. Quite robust, very much like a Russian Imperial Stout in character.

16 ounce can. Opaque black color. Moderate sized rocky tan head. Roasted malt nose. Hints of coffee and cinnamon. First sip yields notes of roasted malt, chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla. The Ancho chilies emerge in the middle, though they are subtle. Mildly complex, the flavors meld nicely to produce a smooth drinkable Mexican stout.
