Description
six°north was established in 2013. The concept was born in Belgium when founder Robert Lindsay fell in love with the country’s beer culture and tradition. He soon returned to north east Scotland to start brewing his own beers, six°north of Brussels. We make modern, artisanal beers that are driven by Belgian brewing tradition and inspired by modern brewing practices.

Our beers are unfiltered and carbonated naturally through secondary fermentation. We brew classic Belgian inspired beers, as well as modern, hop-forward styles. We also release a number of collaboration beers each year with other breweries.

Can from Rosemount Market. It pours cloudy quite deep muddy blonde with a frothy white head. The aroma is fresh, bright and green, weedy, dank, zingy citrus, lemon - lime, juicy mango, peach, pineapple, apricot jam and um bungo. The taste is fairly crisp upfront, firm, dry, pleasing green bitterness which lingers, weedy, dank, pithy, zesty, limey, limequat, sappy, resinous, tropical vibes, mango, peach, nectarine, apricot and a kick of alcohol with a drying, dank finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Interesting and quaffable. Nice to have some bitterness in the mix for a change with this style. Good depth.

Black beer, thick brown head. Malty, tonka aroma. Flavour has a big hit of tonka which I'm totally here for, some dark chocolate, a little wood, toasty malt, a little sweet liquorice. I love stouts with tonka bean through them so I'm all over this. My only real gripe is it'd have been lovely to be just a little fuller and richer.
