Description
six°north was established in 2013. The concept was born in Belgium when founder Robert Lindsay fell in love with the country’s beer culture and tradition. He soon returned to north east Scotland to start brewing his own beers, six°north of Brussels. We make modern, artisanal beers that are driven by Belgian brewing tradition and inspired by modern brewing practices.

Our beers are unfiltered and carbonated naturally through secondary fermentation. We brew classic Belgian inspired beers, as well as modern, hop-forward styles. We also release a number of collaboration beers each year with other breweries.

Bottle from Cloudwater. It pours hazy deep orange with a thick, frothy white head. The aroma is sweet and juicy, ripe mango, nectarine, tangerine. papaya, star fruit, kiwi, some spice, rich bready character and a hint of bubblegum. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, snappy, green, grassy/weedy, slightly floral, resinous, spice, tropical fruit cocktail, citrus peel, and tangerine with a linger bitter - dry finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Interesting and flavourful. Still has that Belgian influence in there somewhere.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. Don't know if this is vintage 2019 or 2020 (no vintage on the label), but the ABV is 6.0%, and the BB date is Sept. 2021. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Huge beige head. Malty aroma, hints of caramel, brittle and slightly burnt breadcrumbs. Malty flavour too, but not very sweet. Dry and dusty finish. Half decent, but not a favourite of mine.
