About
six°north was established in 2013. The concept was born in Belgium when founder Robert Lindsay fell in love with the country’s beer culture and tradition. He soon returned to north east Scotland to start brewing his own beers, six°north of Brussels. We make modern, artisanal beers that are driven by Belgian brewing tradition and inspired by modern brewing practices.
Our beers are unfiltered and carbonated naturally through secondary fermentation. We brew classic Belgian inspired beers, as well as modern, hop-forward styles. We also release a number of collaboration beers each year with other breweries.

Keg at SixD. It pours lightly hazy orangey - amber with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is oily, orangey, tangerine, marmalade, funk, tangy, bit of funk, barnyard, flour bread, spice, almond and biscotti. The taste is dry, zingy, bitter, nutty, orange peel, tangerine, bit of funk, barnyard, spice, marmalade sandwiches, grassy, straw, soapiness, earth and dry wood with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate+ foamy carbonation. Solid stuff.

Frothy white head left a creamy cover on a cloudy vivid lemon coloured lively body. Yeast, sweet citrus & cereal aroma. Medium bodied, soft in the mouth with sharp back. Sweet citrus, chalk, wheat & spiced tastes with bitter tangy finish & peppery aft. Nice!

330ml bottle, 364, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Creamy white head remaining over a hazy golden body. Patchy lacing to the glassware. Fresh floral and fruity aromas, promising. Succulent fruity flavours, moments of peaches, orange and noble hops. Mid-dry bitter end. Fine bodied. Soft on the swallow. Good drinking outside in the sun. (Tromsø 28.07.2020).

330ml bottle bought at Gulating Ølutsalg in Tromsdalen. Big bubbles on the surface of a mostly black coloured body. Dotted spots on the glass. Tart berry skins on the nose. The taste profile is dominated by quite strong acidity of cherries, hints of cocoa far behind. Tart-malty finish. Drinkable, but not my kind of good beer drinking. (Tromsø 28.07.2020).

Bottle. Clear golden body with a small and fast disappearing white head. Aroma has pale malt, apricot, sour berries, light wood, hint of apple cider and quite funky. Taste is sweet and sour with the same elements, malt, berries, wood, cider and funk. Medium body and pleasant aftertaste. A very delicate and tasty beer that’s really easy drinkable as well, fine balance all the way with a tart and funky finish. Really my kind of Saison.
