Bottle at the H&J Sports Bar, Makati City. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is sweet apple. The flavour is strong sweet apple. What else is there to say. A real sweetie for rhe summertime but that’s where it ends.

A golden lager with a thin white head. In aroma, rather plain Asian crap lager with light Rice adjunct. In mouth, watery and boring, light adjunct laced rice malt, light German hops, light mineral notes, boring. Bottle from a corner store in Boracay, on special at 35 pesos.

A golden lager with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet apple juice, lightly chemical in nature, light perfumy notes, weird and cloying. In mouth, sweet fruity apple juice with light mineral notes, faint memories of malt, more like a pop. Bottle at a seaside restaurant in El Nido.

A very pale blonde lager with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet corn adjunct malt with light mineral notes, very faint. In mouth, watery light adjunct malt with light mineral notes, very bad. Bottle at Shawarma center on J. Bocobo.

A pale lager with a very thin white head. In aroma, sweet rice adjunct malt with light German hops, light mineral notes, faint cereal, so-so. In mouth, a sweet rice adjunct malt with light German hops, light mineral notes, actually not bad. Bottle at Erras Ramen, Manila, 45 pesos, or about a dollar.

At a Filipino restauarant: pours pale gold with white head. Decidely not offensive. Less flavor than their pilsen, but same amount of alcohol so not a bad deal I suppose because the flavors are not great. Chuggable which is how I finished it.

Sampled from 0.32 l bottle from a local Asian food store, best before August 2018. Clear, golden with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly grassy-spicy aroma of grains and some straw. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, a bit grassy-spicy taste of grains and some straw, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly dry and a bit grassy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pretty bland but not bad.

330ml bottle (as Cerveza Negra) from Total Wine & More, Laguna Hills. Poured into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip glass while on holiday in California. Dark brown body with a ruby hue, thin head that soon turned into a wisp and collar. Malty molasses in the nose and taste, pretty sweet from start to finish, in fact one of the sweetest Dunkel biers I have ever had; good job I have a sweet tooth.
