Description
In 2001, Whitbread decided to sell all its breweries and brewing interests (Whitbread Beer Company) to Interbrew, now known as Anheuser-Busch InBev. Whitbread-branded alcoholic beverages are still available in the UK, such as canned Whitbread bitter, but these are not produced by Anheuser-Busch InBev, but rather under licence by other producers.

Rated from old notes. Disappointed to hear this one was retired as it was an old standby for me back in the late 90s. Poured dark copper with a creamy head. Taste was caramel malt, nuts, and a light touch of honey. Good stuff.

Old rating. Bottle from Old Town. Pours an amber color with a modest off-white head. Malt and caramel aromas present. Slightly sweet and bitter on the palate with a little pepper on the finish. Nothing special.

American version, bottle. Pale golden yellow color, medium white head. Aroma of straw and white pepper. Taste is slightly less bitter than a lager.

Clear copper colour, small off-white head, stays a while, some lacing. Sweet roasted malts nose, light floral hops. Light body, creamy to watery texture, soft carbonation. Light bittersweet, hint of fruit; smooth light bitter finish.

Cask at The Nags Head in Chichester. Copper coloured with a good head. Has a small soapy aroma and a slightly sweet taste.
