Pitch black pour with a short-lived dark espresso head. Notes of coconut, dark roasted malt, smoke, bitter cherries, a bit of roasted coffee. Another nice Abyssal, a bit more unbalanced than the coffee version, but quite enjoyable.

Pitch-black pour with a beautiful tan head. Huge coffee notes up front, both roasted coffee as well as cold-brewed coffee, on top of a super roast-forward imperial stout, with additional notes of ash, dark chocolate, subtle bitter cherries. Solid imperial stout, right up my alley.

(Draught at Billie's Bier Kafétaria, Antwerpen, 17 Oct 2019) Black colour with creamy brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, chocolate, vanilla and toasted coconut. Malty, roasted taste with sweet espresso, dark chocolate, vanilla, coconut and a balanced coffee bitterness in a warming and sweetish finish. Fuill body, quite sweet. Hardly balanced and on the sweet side, but really tasty with rich coffee and chocolate flavours, spiced up with coconut and vanilla. Very nice.

Svart med brunt skum. Lukter kaffe, kirsebær, sedertre og og mørk sjokolade. Fyldig. Smaker søt lakris, røde bær, vanilje, nøtter og kaffe. Middels lang.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met Lieke van de Ven. Het is een donkerbruin tot zwart bier met een dun bruinig schuim. De geur is gebrande koffie en chocolade. De smaak is koffie achtig en gebrand.

310ml bottle bought from EAP and drunk in my AirBnb in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Bottled 05/2019. black color, small coffee colored head. smells cinnamon, earthy, bit medical, nutmeg, maple, spices, nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes of cinnamon, earthy, peppery, some bitter chocolate, mulberry, bit boozy, vanilla, toasty, nutmeg, some maple sirup. finishes bit bitter / sweet with notes of nutmeg, maple and some cinnamon notes. Very nice one, needed a bit of breezing to open up. Great long aftertaste, that really brings out the inidividual notes. Upfront the same nutmeg / cinnamon / maple notes are a bit harsh, but a bit into it its very smooth. very good one.

Draught Thick greige head with lace over jet-black beer. Sweet, vanilla² (not Bourbon!), bit nutty (cocoa), tonka beans, maple. Mildly smoked flavour, pipe tobacco/ashes, finish is almost bitter with a vanilla mildering. Candle wax, stearine. Very thick, chewy, viscous, alcoholwarming. Good carbonation. Way, wààày better than feared from the ingredients description.

Pours black, small tanned head. Smell is intense bacon indeed. Mildly smokey. Mild cocoa. Taste is full, sweet, intense, coco, bacon, smoke is mild, barbecue like. Fleshy for sure. Thick, roasty, chocolat. Not half as bad as I had feared. Smokey, but not as in a rauchbeer. Think of bbq'd pork ribs or bacon. Not bad at all.

Bottle shared at tasting. Opaque black color with a small brown head. Smell and taste malts, some roast, coffee, sweetest chocolate notes. Moderately bitter. Decent to medium body and carbonation. Quite good.
