Description
Albion is the historical and poetic name of England, but it is also a 100% Lanaudière brewery. At the Albion, British-inspired, locally brewed beers are offered, all in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Know that an immense care is brought as much to the brewing as to the service of our beers. We have the artisan brewer's license, which means that our beers are available only at our establishment.

Bottle: Poured a deep hazy amber color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt notes with some light oak and vinous notes. Taste is a mix of vinous notes, oak and huge caramelized cereal notes with subdued residual sugar notes. Body is full with good carbonation and no aproned alcohol notes. Enjoyable old ale with lots of depth and complexity that ages super well.

Bottle: Poured a hazy/cloudy dark brown color ale with a large brown foamy head with OK retention and some light lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt with dry toffee notes and some dry fruits is pretty interesting. Taste is also a very good mix of caramelized malt, dry toffee notes with light residual sugar notes with some light oak and oxidation notes. Body is full with good carbonation with no real alcohol being apparent. Solid old ale and nice example of an historical style.

Bottle (2013 vintage drank in 2019): Poured a deep cloudy brown color ale with a large medium brown foamy head with excellent retention and some good amount of lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt, toffee and dry fruits is quite sublime. Taste is a mix of heavy caramelized malt notes with balance residual sugar notes, some dry raisins and plums with some toffee notes and very light oxidation notes. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation with hints of warming alcohol notes. I haven’t drank many English style barleywine that are that well balanced.
