On tap at Ravens, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out bready malt and light sweetness. Flavour is bready and dry, with bready malt, cereal notes, and straw. Sweet and bready, with a crisp finish. It's alright.

On tap at Ravens, pours a clear pale copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out gentle tart plums and some cereal notes. Flavour is not too pleasant, with tart plums, cereal notes and a little lacto. The plums are pretty poorly expressed here and there's a lingering yogurty character that isn't pleasant.

On tap at Ravens, pours a cloudy dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is fairly fruity, with red fruits, bready malt and a touch of caramel. Flavour is dry, with English bready malt, some red fruits, and a hint of toffee. Dry and fruity, with a nice maltiness. Solid.

473 ml can. Pours a dark brown with bubbly head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of nutty chocolate, a bit of plastic and roasted malts. Flavors follow same with additional peanuts. Thinner than expected but like a porter. Was thinking the hot chocolate title would come with something chocolatey and creamy. Not so

Poured from 473mL can. Near black with tan head. Very mild roast malt start with a more dominant dark chocolate middle and a mild bitter roast finish. The chocolate notes are nice, but if the roast complimented it better, it would be very good.

500ml at Matt's amenity room. Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: roasted malts, overfermented black currants, some sweetness and sourness. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: interesting, but I wouldn't care very much about it.

Dark brown. No head. Lots of brett, lots of dark fruit notes, which probably is probably the blackcurrant. So I'm not normally a fan of dark sours, but this does have a pretty good complexity to it. So I do like it.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is loaded with oak, some black currant, and a little balsamic. Flavour is very oaky, with lots of woody oak, balsamic, and lightly tart black currant. That's a lot of oak--damn. Lots of oak, with just enough tartness and nice expression of the fruit. Very good.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver; tag 249180920 (sept 18?)
Golden colour, clean. The aroma is simple, near macro lager. It has a respectable malt flavour, mild, bread, with a little toast, balanced bitterness, and it's clean. Pleasant.
