Description
Cedar Cider is a farm based cidery located in the Hazelmere Valley, South Surrey, British Columbia. Our focus is on 100% organic farming practices, growing heritage trees and picking the fruit by hand. We produce small batch natural ciders, using wild yeasts, barrel aging and barrel ferments to obtain complex flavours highlighting the unique qualities of the fruits. All of our product is unpasteurized and unfiltered, with no sugars or acids added. Best kept cold.
Our orchards were established to include dessert, bittersweet, and bittersharp apple varieties grown from heirloom and heritage trees. The orchards are located in the Campbell River Valley, along the Fraser River in Agassiz, and the north Arrow Lake in British Columbia. The inspiration for natural ciders comes from a history and enjoyment of basque and west country styles from the old world.

Nice pale straw colour, good carbonation, minimal foam. Nice white wine character on the nose, soft apple, slight floral notes. Flavour is definitely a sweet grape, some soft bitter apple, mellow vine notes. Warming alcohol, lively carbonation. Excellent.

Soft peach body, strong carbonation, mellow foam. Really nice bright green chewy apple on the nose, pinot barrels don't come across much if at all. Flavour is very strong pinot character, grape must is heavy, sharp acidic apple, soft wood notes. Bone dry finish, crisp carbonation. Really good balance, highly enjoyable.

White body, good foam, nice carbonation. Nice fresh pineapple on the nose, you can smell the juice, sharp apple helps to balance it. Flavour is very juicy pineapple, soft fruit must, vague apple. Good carbonation keeps it crisp. Simple but refreshing.

Okay pale light straw body, modest carbonation, minimal foam. Strong dry bourbon on the nose, soft apple, a little flat and not garnering much excitement from me. Flavour is a good bourbon and apple balance, sharp apple helping to mellow out whisky wood notes and bourbon. Nice finish, soft vanilla lingers. Not the best attempt I've had at this locally but decent enough.

Very nice pale straw body, good carbonation, decent foam. Nice semi-sweet chewy apple on the nose. Flavour is soft muddle apple and pineapple, maybe orange blossom since they mentioned it, mellow sweetness. Carbonation doesn't push forward, dry finish only. Drinkable but could be so much more.

Pale straw body with good carbonation, strong ginger on the nose with some sweet apple that's working well together. Fresh ginger flavour with some apple sweetness and sharp carbonation. A little dry. Reasonably well done ginger cider.

Nice pale straw body and some soft foam, heavy pumpkin spice and modest ginger on the nose. Flavour is chewy apple, pumpkin spice, vague ginger maybe. Very dessert-ish and strong carbonation lends towards a digestif. Or maybe a good ingredient in a winter cocktail. Add some rum, will you?

Draught at the Parallel 49, Vancouver
Very pale yellow, hazy, quickly disappearing head. Quite strong ginger aroma and flavour, with a touch of rosemary, over a dry and lame cider; overall this tastes like cleaning product.
One more poor BC cider; it's not by adding massive amounts of fruit or spice that one can hide the mediocre base cider.

Blond colour. Faint acidity, the apple is a mirage, it has a bit of ginger and other spices.
Lame.
