Description
Cedar Cider is a farm based cidery located in the Hazelmere Valley, South Surrey, British Columbia. Our focus is on 100% organic farming practices, growing heritage trees and picking the fruit by hand. We produce small batch natural ciders, using wild yeasts, barrel aging and barrel ferments to obtain complex flavours highlighting the unique qualities of the fruits. All of our product is unpasteurized and unfiltered, with no sugars or acids added. Best kept cold.
Our orchards were established to include dessert, bittersweet, and bittersharp apple varieties grown from heirloom and heritage trees. The orchards are located in the Campbell River Valley, along the Fraser River in Agassiz, and the north Arrow Lake in British Columbia. The inspiration for natural ciders comes from a history and enjoyment of basque and west country styles from the old world.

Draught at 12 Kings, Vancouver
Cloudy Pale blond colour. The aroma seems sweet, light funky cider notes with some candied pineapple. The mouthfeel is dry, usual BC lame cider base, with a hint of pineapple; weak and short finish.

Apple skin and light sulphur. Cloudy dirty yellow. Apple skin and I don’t get much passion.

On tap at 12 Kings, pours a cloudy dull yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out a decent balance of apples and passionfruit upfront, with plenty of apple core. Flavour is similar, bringing out loads of green apple core upfront, accentuated by rather subtle passionfruit. A bit of rotten character to this, due to the apple core notes, but it works okay.

On tap at 12 Kings, pours a cloudy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma is like pineapple juice, with lots of juicy fruit, and little notice of the apples. Flavour is a little more mellow, bringing out the pineapple out front and then revealing the apple skins in back. Just a subtle tartness with medium sweetness. Clean and drinkable, but simple and lacking much depth. Okay.

Draft - Light and nondescript sweetness. Light cloudy yellow white. Oddly sweet and a decent finish.
