On nitro tap at Foamers Folly, pours a reddish dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out light brine, with a one chalk and powdered cocoa. Flavour is tangy and salty, with tons of oyster brine and salt. Rather chalky and tangy. Not a fan, but it is bold.

On tap at 12 Kings, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out plenty of raspberries upfront, with some gin botanicals to follow, and lacto. Flavour is along the same lines, with plenty of gin botanicals upfront, with more subdued raspberries, and barely a trace of spruce. Strange mix that isn't totally cohesive but not messy either. Okay.

Sweet fruity red berry. Cloudy pinkish with a decent white head. Soured berry with a light berry finish. Beets don’t really come through as earthy but sweet and fruity.

Nice darker brown body, no head. Aroma is all dry stale coffee, no cloying alcohol at least. Flavour is big dry coffee with baker's chocolate hints. A dry finish too. No sign of the high alcohol. Incredibly nice, devilish even, perfect for an unassuming new year's Eve.

On tap atvthe brewery, new year's eve, where else would you rather be? It's a semi-cloudy yellow affair with very little foam. The aroma is a mix of funky yeast and soya sauce, maybe some fermented beets in there too. Flavour is big funky brett yeast with some soft light grain behind it. Medium finish. Not bad in fact, the barrel age adds a woody dryness that makes this quite interesting.

On tap at the brewer-ery. Mostly hazy yellow body greets me and a bit of white foam on top but not much. Smells plenty of juicy hops, nice oiliness, some fruity grains on the back end. Flavour is good juicy and oily hops, citrus sweetness, lots of fruity goodness in this. Medium finish but mostly good and well balanced. A nice hoppy brew anyway.

On tap at the brewery. Has a semi cloudy orange body with almost no foam, smells of sharp fruit of no distinction. Flavour is a very nice almost champagne like mix of grape must and funky fruit with a sharp sour finish. Surprisingly well done, I guees some experiments come out well. This is in the neighbourhood of Cantillon and I do not say that lightly.

On tap at the brewery. Pours with a nice smooth white foam and darker brown body of burnt sienna-ness. Aroma is lots of cinnamon and carrot cake as advertised. Flavour is creamy cinnamon and carrot cake with a sugary finish, as it should be for a carrot cake beer. Well done, execution is great, highly drinkable.

650ml bottle. Leftover from the previous day tasting at Alex's, hehe. Pours a clear dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is caramel, some roasted malt, and dried fruits. Taste is similar with nuts notes. Maybe it is a bit harsh and just a bit more bitter than I would prefer, but it's surprisingly good.

Bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver
Dark brown colour with frothy head. Toasted malts, sweet dark caramel, nutty, and strong oak character; a bit warming too.
Pleasant brew.
