Gold colour, just a slight haze. Not much head. Earthy hop, light bitterness, just a touch of sweet pale malt…though that malt is a bit sticky. This is falling well outside the style for me.

Poured from the tap (2020 vintage - 9.3% 50 ibu - described as “Cocoa, Coffee, Rich”). Black with light tan head. Some nice chocolate and roast malts. Simple, but actually quite decent. Would be nice to barrel age it.

Poured from the tap. Blueberry purple with small white head. Aroma of Rooibos. Taste of blueberry, hint of vanilla, hint of peach, and underlying rooibos. Initially rated this lower as the rooibos gave a slightly soapy note, but as it warmed up, the rooibos comes out more and is actually quite nice.

Poured from the tap. Very slightly hazy gold with small white head. Sweaty chewy malt with bitter citrus hops. Hop profile is nice, but the malt is bit off.

2019 edition on tap at the brewery, 9.3% abv and 45 IBU. Smells of good sweet coffee and dark milk chocolate, has decent beige foam on a dark brown body. Flavour is bright but heavy and chewy deep molasses and coffee. Mouthfeel is full and reasonably sharp. It's a nice enough impy stout, sweet and smooth.
