473 ml can. Pours amber with moderate head. Aromas of grainy metallic malts and old hops. Flavors of same. BBD is 5/25/24 so maybe past it’s prime.

650 ml bottle. Pours a very dark mahogany with no head. Aromas of dark fruit, plums, burn sugar, and toasted malts. Flavors follow same with some additional phenolics.

Poured from 650mL bottle @ Weathered 2023. Clear-ish amber with minimal white head. Underlying roast coffee, feint dark fruits, very feint hint of vanilla. Underwhelming, odd combo.

Pale amber, oniony sort of aroma but on the palate there’s some stone fruit as well, apricot mostly. Sticky malts but also medium bitterness. Still quite sulphury.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out bright piney hops, a hint of citrus, and crisp crackery malt. Flavour is crisp, with a nice piney hop character and crisp crackery malt. I don't get any butter thankfully. Crisp, biting and dry finish. But it's just really timid. Meh.

473 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with full nitro head. Aromas of creamy coffee and roasted malts. Flavors of roasted barley, mineral water and sweetened dark chocolate. Nice and easy to drink.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Blond colour, darker shade of blond, with just some chill haze, otherwise it's quite clean; medium sized head. Delicate aroma, more fuity than piney, it seems sweet. Medium body, lean, with light residual sweetness; I appreciate that the malts are not sticky, on the other hand, they are not adding much either; the hopping is ok, balanced bitterness and timid aromatics, piney resins; but there is also, quite clearly, some butter here.
I'm not a diacetyl nazi, so I'm going to drink it, others may be offended by this. Modern West Coast IPA, but the execution is mediocre.

Can from Jak's Parkcrest, Burnaby
Amber colour, clean. Aroma of bready malt, and flour paste. Lean body, very much Lager-like; a bit of flavour from those darker malts that is typical (and correct) for the style, but without depth, and getting weaker in the finish.
It's ok, at least it's not just an Amber Ale.

Pale gold with slight haze. Light bitterness, light fruitiness. Malts are a bit sticky. Everything is just sort of ok, mind you.

Gold, not much head. Bergamot and vanilla for sure, so it comes across creamy, mild tartness. Lemon? Not sure, because of the other citrus. Light tannins.
