355ml can at a friends house in Victoria, Vancouver Island on 13th August 2025. Red hue to the dark body, beige crown. Malt base with a dark fruit interior, not sweet, not sour or dry, just a nice balanced dark ale.

Can at our friends Don & Lee Ann's place in Victoria (Vancouver Island) on 12th August 2025. Clean and clear light golden body, bright and lively; on top a snow white crust for a few minutes. Dry and refreshing, crisp and almost 'sharp' in nature.

330mL can, pours a clear pinkish red with a small white head. Aroma has gentle raspberry and soft wheatiness. Flavour is fairly dry, with soft raspberry and some wheatiness. Simple but clean and drinkable.

Poured from 355mL can (pkg 06Ma25; take-home from the office social). Clear yellow gold with small white head. A run of the mill corn malt lager with nothing much to write home about, clean and bland. Meh.

Decent gold colour and slow bubbles. Medium head. The aroma is light pale malt. Creamy body, moderate bitterness, low hop expression - leaning towards woody - and more pale malt. That little bit of rye boosts complexity, oats for body, that’s taking a concept so many breweries phone in and instead, they sat down, thought it through, and crafted a 3.5 lager that’s actually solid. It’s worth saying again that Hoyne is quietly making very good beer these past couple of years.

473mL can. Pours clear gold with a white head. Tons of pine and caramel malts on the nose. Flavour has lots of bright piney hops, a bit of dank oils, and a thick caramel malt body. Finishes nice and crisp. Very nice.

Pink, fast fading pink tinged head. Vague berry nose, moreso in palate. However, still lacking in flavour… meh !!

On tap. Pours a dark reddish brown with short head. Aromas of dry caramel, minerals and bready malts. Flavors follow same. Ok for what it is.

Clear brown, small light tan head. Lightly sweet nose and palate, toffee notes. Pleasant enough but not much here

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 05 Dec 2024). Clear blonde gold with white head. Bland pils malt with feint grass hops. Quite boring, though nothing is off about it. Just very average.
