Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Cloudy blond colour, not murky, with medium sized head. Mild citrusy hops in aroma and flavour; the mouthfeel is dry, not chalky; ordinary bitterness.
Nothing special, but it's good enough.

Can. Amber with a slight haze, kiss of caramel, low bitterness, veering on the sweet side - the classic alts are more like 40-45 IBUs so this is more like a low end supermarket alt - but not bad for that.

473mL can, pours a hazy dark red with a small beige head. Aroma is quite malty, with lots of bready malt and toasted caramel. Flavour is heavy on the toasted caramel malt, with bready malt and some mild red berries. Malty, semi-sweet finish. Doesn't strike me as overly authentic, but it's quite solid.

473 ml can. Pours a deep mahogany color with full head that settles quickly. Aromas of dry caramel, toasted malts, raisins and metal. Flavors of bread crusts, rye, dried fruit, and toasted malts. Dry. Nice for the style

Poured from the tap. Dark brown with minimal beige head. Roast malt, decent coffee profile, sweetish finish, slightly creamy texture. Some good flavours, slightly thin and not totally cohesive, but not bad.

Amber, bright, with a medium head. On the nose, earthy C hops with a piney accent. Soft biscuity malts, with a bit of caramel, and mild bitterness, again earthy hops. Tastes like I got a fresh one, which seems important for this beer. I'm down.
