Tap at YOLO, Bangkok. Poured a hazy light green colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is big biscuit dough malt. The flavour is moderate bitter with a malty, light dry fruit herby vegetal watery palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Not a Pale Ale at all, despite the name.

Bottle at the Fat Cow, Bangkok. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasty carame malt, chocolate, coffee, lactose. The flavour is moderate to light sweet with a smooth rich dry roasty, liqouirce hop bitter palate. The aroma was great but the beer didn’t live up to the initial expectations. It was a little weak and the liqouirce dominates.

330mL bottle at The Fat Cow, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out licorice, toasted malt, and some red fruits. Flavour brings out red fruits, licorice and light toasted malt. Unusual and light for an imperial stout, but with a sticky body. Weird, but pleasant.

Bottle at the Fat Cow, Bangkok. Poured a murky light brown with a thin broken white head. The aroma is grainy malt, fresh tropical fruit, light alcohol. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a rich light oily fresh fruity woody alcohol bitter sugary malt palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. I’m not a fan of the style but this was nicely balanced and very drinkable.
