Thanks to Phil l for bringing this bottle to the Bricklayers Arms Yorkshire Fest 09. Lovely red fruits, gorgeous, not much carbonation, but lovely strawberry jam. It is very drinkable and quite glorious. Bit sour. Lovely red soft fruits.

Bottle shared by PhilL at Bistro DIPA festival. Aroma like a floral imperial stout. Full bodied. Mild carbonation. Flavor is very darkly malty with mild hop. Lovely.

Chocolatey, rich, oily, not oxidized.

Great beer, with smooth mouthfeel, and a very nice spicy edge, much better than the regular Good King Henry tasted side to side.

The color is totally black, with low carbonation, and a small brownish head of big bubbles and vortex. The aroma is bitonal, with vanilla driven oak and dark chocolate; leather too; light alcohol. The body is strong and the mouthfeel almost silky; the blend of chocolate, roasted malts and wood is sublime; there are side traces of liquorice, tar, leather, whisky; some residual sweetness, but moderate; good bitterness level, and very good alcohol management. The final is very chocolatey; light signs of oxidisation in the end.

Vintage 2005, 9-5-9-4-18=45
Black color; generous creamy head, reducing fast. Wonderful aroma, roasted malt, chocolate, light leather, but mostly a very good cheesy touch. Good body strength, perfect mouthfeel, massive caramel and chocolate flavor, with vanilla, light liquorice, leather, light fruity sourness; artfully blended together. Lovely!

27.5 cL bottle. courtesy of fonefan. Pours hazy and dark brown with a minimal head. Slight wooden and berry fruity aroma with a light yeast notes. Smooth and light caramel malty flavoured with a light bitterness emerging. Lingering breadish malt flavour with a vague fruity accent. Lasting fruity and yeasty impression into a mild malt based finish, rather subdued bitterness.

27.5 cL bottle, courtesy of fonefan. Pours almost clear golden deep orange to amber with a creamy and tan head. Fruity and mild brett-ish aroma. Sweet and spiced with a mild caramel malty note. Medium sweet finish. Light spiced into the far finish.
