Description
The site where Coteau Rougemont now stands was first settled in 1816. It quickly became known for its fertile soil as well as the quality of its crops, livestock and forest products. In 1883, it became home, albeit briefly, to Quebec’s first agricultural school.
In 1935, after having changed hands a few times, the estate was sold to the Oblate fathers. In 2006, it was acquired by Claude Robert, an entrepreneur originally from the Rougemont area, putting the vast orchard and its 40,000 trees under the control of the Robert family.

Bottle sample at Mondial Des Cidres, pours a clear reddish pink with a small white head. Aroma brings out gentle raspberries that are probably subdued a bit by the champagne effervescence. Flavour is better than the uncarbonated version, with bright raspberries and champagne yeast. Much brighter and more expressive than the uncarbonated one. Wonderful.

Bottle sample at Mondial Des Cidres, pours a bright reddish pink, no head. Aroma brings out gentle raspberries, with little else. Flavour is along the same lines, fresh raspberries and a touch of tart apple skins. Simple but well-made.

Bottle sample at Mondial Des Cidres, pours a bright dark red with a small white head. Aroma is really fragrant, with lots of blueberries exuding. Flavour nails the blueberry really well, bringing out a big wallop of berries, followed by a gentle champagne-like effervescence. Really good.

Bottle sample at Mondial Des Cidres, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Nose brings out champagne effervescent and crisp green apples. Flavour is unusual, with lots of apple core, champagne effervescence and crisp apple skins. The apple core is rather strange here, falling flat on the palate. It's alright.

Bottle sample at Mondial des Cidres, pours a clear bright pink. Aroma brings out potent raspberries upfront, with light treacle toffee. Flavour is decadent as hell, with potent raspberries that have a touch of tartness, medium treacle toffee and brown sugar. The addition of raspberries is executed beautifully. Decadent and a pleasure to sip.

A purplish cider with aroma of sweet apple and light blueberries, light chalky notes. In mouth, mix of sweet apples, light acidic notes, light blueberry jam, light chalk, pleasant. Bottle at Mondial des Cidres 2019.
