Third one from this brewery tonight. Slightly hazy yellow colour with a nice frothy white head, good retention and some light lacing around the ring. Fresh citrus orangy nose with some some nice hints of leaves. The taste shows this citrus fruit, but the yeast seems to take over creating some tartiness on the tongue which cuts the refreshing aspect of this brew. Alright, but was hoping for more. Lactose should be stronger.

473 can from the brewery. Pours a hazy darker amber colour with a beige head that does not stay too long and lacing is hardly visible. Nutty aromas with the caramel malt base and some hops that are a bit off. The taste is better balanced. Nothing too strong, but decent caramel notes with hints of the hops and nuts. Much easier to take in the mouth and smoother drinking overall.

Smaller 355ml can from the brewery on my first visit. Cola-looking brown colour with a beige head, average stay and some dirty tiny-spot lacing. Aromas of dark fruits over roasted malts and hints of vanilla at first. Some nuttiness comes out with hints of brown sugars. The taste has a balance of these, making the dark malts softer with some light sweetness, but not too much. And not syrupy. Maybe some notes of grapes and maple syrup. Apples as well. So, lots going one, but well-blended - seems like a lower alcohol Scotch Ale. But no. My favourite so far.

After having their Alestake and Evergreen IPA yesterday which had way too much diacetyl, hoping for a closer IPA. And it seems. But maybe not by much. I can already feel the butterscotch coming through the hoppy nose, but not as much as the other. Clean amber, frothy warm off-white cap, good stay and some foamy lacing. Tasting the caramel-butterscotch at first, but at least some hops come to save this a bit in the finish. So, decent lingering grassy notes. A nice dryness builds up as well. Much better than the Alestake.

This seems like their regular easy-drinking golden lager. Clean, golden, white cap, average stay and a little lace. Pours a light cereal malt with hints of sweetness. This sweetness shows a little more in the taste with the grainy finish lingering. All is good here for the style. Just might be a tad to rich to drink a few of these, in a row.

Pours a clean enough golden-amber colour with a nice frothy-creamy warm cap, good stay and creamy lacing. Not the nose I was hoping from an IPA at first with the diacetyl popcorn butterscotch aroma. The hops are trying to come through. Same for taste - too much caramel with the grassy hops trying to pierce through it. At least the hops do lingers over the butterscotchy feel. Gets a little better as it breathes, but still cannot get pass diacetyl in an IPA. Seems like I am the only one to have gotten this as well. Inconsistent :(

Can that pours a clean deep amber colour with a copper hue. The head is off-white, average size and retention with minimal lacing. Loads of cereal grains in the nose with caramel notes and hints of bubblegum, butterscotch. Flavours of caramel malts with a grainy background and a decent hoppy finish to cut the sweetness and make this go down nicer. Some spices it seems that linger. A nice first experience.
