500ml bottle @ JDW Montgomery’s Tower, Shrewsbury. Bought purely and simply because it was a new country tick, despite seeing this in the fridge here many many times and not giving it much thought. Pours clear gold, white head. Aroma is musty malt, straw. Taste is an initial pale malt lager character but with distinct, offputting oxidised wet cardboard notes coming through which makes it incredibly difficult to finish. So I left it.

12oz bottle picked up at Belmont Portland. Pours out a crisp clear pale straw topped with a white head. nose is cream of corn grassy hops and some wheat. Taste is more of the corn and light sweetness and some spice. I have had worse.

Sie müssen nicht nach Kenia fahren, um kenianisches Bier zu trinken. Immer mehr Ethno-Geschäfte in Mitteleuropa verkaufen dieses Bier auch. Nach meinen eher unangenehmen Erfahrungen mit (west-) afrikanischen Bier, habe ich mir auch von diesem Bier nicht viel erwartet. Aber es schmeckt ganz ordentlich und lässt sich gut trinken. Auf dem Etikett grinst dem Trinker ein Elefant entgegen, der aussieht, als hätte er schon ein paar Liter intus. Aber das ist nun mal das Wappentier und für ein afrikanisches Bier passt es auch. Es ist natürlich weit von einem 100%-Bier entfernt, aber bei einer Safari kann ich es mir als Durstlöscher sehr gut vorstellen.

Bouteille. Léger nez de grains de malt pâle et de maïs sucré avec des notes de houblon floral, de légumes cuits ainsi que des effluves métalliques. Mince-moyenne en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-élevé et une texture assez aqueuse. Goût très légèrement croustillant de malt pâle avec des notes de légumes bouillis et de très légères notes métalliques lors de l’entrée en bouche suivi d’un léger goût sucré de maïs et de papier mouillé puis en finale l’on retrouve un très léger goût amer de houblon floral aux notes herbeuses. Arrière-goût court, légèrement amer de houblon floral aux notes herbeuses et métalliques. [notes 2006]

Shared 12 oz. bottle. Pours a pale straw and very clear with a small white head. Aroma and taste of grass and light malts, with perhaps a bit of sour apple. Mild sweetness/bitterness. Clever name and logo.

From can at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport 18.02.16. Clear straw colour. Persistent bright white head and lacing. Uninviting aroma of maize, old grass and general unfreshness. Similarly taste. Metallic bitternesss.

Pours a straw from a bottle. Aroma of light fruit...pear/peach? Flavor very sweet and skunky. Not as bad as most macro lagers, but I’m not going to reach for this one again. Not so good beer.

Bottle 500ml. [ As Kenya Tusker Lite ].Clear light medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, pale malt, butterscotch notes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, butterscotch notes, grass - silage bitter notes. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20151121]
