Many thanks to Taboada for this bottle! Smokey sourish beginning. Fresh, smooth and mild. Lots of dry malts in the body, hints of smoke with a not much bitter fruity aftertaste. Nice.

Bottle, thanks Taboada! Hazy reddish-brown color with small tan head. Aroma is oak, sweetish, malty, sirupy, berries, slightly chemical. Taste is wood, lots of oak sugars, sirupy, malty. Oily mouthfeel. Warming finish. Quite an unbalanced and very woody Barley Wine, not my thing.

Ambar sucia, de escasa espuma. Aroma malteado, dulce, con claras notas lacteas. En boca es acaramelada, dulzona, con ese contrapunto de levadura, que da un toque terroso y lacteo no muy agradable.

Bottle courtesy of Taboada, many thanks! Not really brown, rather dark amber color with bubbly white head that looks like dish-liquid foam. Aroma is soapy, dish-washing flavoured (wtf), tart berries, berry skin, some dark malts and coffe underlying the intensely perfumed citrus-soapy character. The aroma smells like it’s unintended. It’s not bad, just not at all the flavours a Smoked Lager should have. A few other raters also mention similar flavours. Taste is tart berries, chalk, brown malts, some coffee, nothing smoky. Low carbonation. "Infection gone well"? It’s quite okay, but not my type of beer.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Max. Very dark brown to black, with a small tan head. Aroma of roast, cookies, cocoa, some spicy duvshaniot. Sweet flavor with roast, chocolate, a bit of coffee, minerals, spicy hint, and a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied. Decent.

Barley wine original. Normal.
