Bottle: Golden, hazy, small and stable white head with a yeasty touch and a delicate bitter(!) Background; sweetish-sourish flavour, not without a hoppy touch, medium bodied, a bit tart; slightly lingering delicate peppery-hoppy finish, wheat and barley underneath. Unusual and a bit different from Bavarian samples; but a nice one...

Bottle from trade with Pivnizub, many thanks Guenther. Hazy amber brown color with thick persistent off-white head. Malty aroma. Taste, malt, caramel, roasted notes, yeast. Doesn’t fit to style, but despite that not tasty beer.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours hazy amber with airy white head. Clear aroma of yeast and malt, with touches of hops and some dusty notes. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with bitter, hoppy amd slightly roasty notes. Sweetish, estery finish, with hints of roast. Not bad!

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours very slightly hazy golden with very stable white head. Clear aroma of hops and yeast, with subtle touches of paper. Bitter, hoppy flavour, complemented by sweetish estery notes and touches of yeast. Dry and bitter aftertaste. A decent German Pilsener from a microbrewery.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours hazy amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, with touches of caramel and hops. Bitter, hoppy onset, quickly replaced by quite sweet notes of caramel malt and yeast. Bitter and estery aftertaste. OK but not what I understand as Dunkel.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours cloudy straw with stable white head. Clear aroma of yeast, with notes of hops and touches of banana. Sweetish flavour of yeast, banana and raw malt, enhanced by bitter, hoppy notes. Rough, estery aftertaste. OK but nothing really special.

(bottle, 33cl) Cloudy, orange-golden colour with a big and firm, minimally off-white foamy head. Yeasty, fruit-accented and wheaty aroma with a heavy load of banana, traces of apricot, accompanied by shy clovy notes. Moderately sweet and mildly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate, even a bit tame carbonation for a Hefeweizen. Present wheat character with notes of banana, also some mineralic hints towards the slightly rough finish with bitter yeasty notes and a tinge of metal at the very end. Finally not particularly rounded. 06.V.14

(bottle, 33cl, as Küstendunkel, 5.0% abv) Hazy, dark amber colour with a big and slightly tanned foamy head. Slightly ashy malty aroma with doughy notes, traces of caramel and a tinge of metal. Mildly sweet and slightly roasty bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly roasted malty taste with notes of caramel, a shy nutty touch and herbal hops far in the background; the latter getting slightly stronger towards the bitter-sweet finish. Despite its rather weak aroma a drinkable Dunkel. 02.V.14
