Hazy golden-amber colour with a fizzy off-white cap that dissipates quickly leaving a little foamy lacing. The Belgian Ale yeast is noticeable in the nose with some grassy hops that build up as you keep smelling and some caramel malts in the background. The taste is mild, as the alcohol content is lighter. A nice blend of the caramel and yeast. Not really sweet, balanced by the hops. Nicely done for the light style.

Bottled, from Urban Fresh, Ottawa. Cloudy pale orange, rich creamy head. Doughy hay aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Dough and grass. Fairly low bitterness. Lacks the malt firmness and depth of the better Franconian version, but I appreciate the attempt.

Nose is lots of malts with some lighter fruit notes along with some grass and nuts. Moderately sweet with some dark fruit and light bitterness. Bottle from the Beer Store. Murky dark amber with a one finger khaki head that fades quickly to a sheet. Patchy lace. Nose is spice, dark fruit, bread, some light banana and grains. Flavour has more banana up front with light cloves lingering in the background. Lightly sweet fruit and caramel malts with some tartness in the finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. 8-/3+/7/3/15

Bottle from the Beer Store. Cloudy pale gold under a fluffy white head that lasts and leaves lots of lace. Nose is light toffee and honey with grass and floral hops with faint spice and fruit. Flavour is lightly sweet with a slightly more pronounced bitterness and a touch of citrus tartness. Mouth is medium and creamy with slightly soft carbonation and a crisp finish. Bottle (5.2% ABV) from LCBO. Hazy golden body with a thick white head. Lively carbonation. Aroma of grass and pineapple yoghurt. Flavour of hay, apricot and grassy hops. Thin to medium body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Light fizz. Very easy to drink. Nice.
