Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Black color, small brown head. Aroma and flavor are based on coffee, and some roasted malt, and roasted bread. The mouthfeel is dry. Mild sourness from the dark malts in the final.
Not bad.

Hazy blond color. The aroma of yeast is evident, some variety used in America, not too sweet, a bit spicy, but also with a note of plastic. The mouthfeel is relatively dry, good spicy note, a bit mono- thematic, but not bad overall. Clean.
Pleasant.

Hazy dark blond color. The dryness of this beer brings out the plastic character of the fake American yeast (well, this beer reminds me of a bunch of French micros too). A bit spicy; feeling of white refined sugar.
I’m not excited by this one.

Light amber color, clean, with small compact head. Fruity hops in the aroma, oranges, fading though. Good body strength, relatively dry; caramel based flavor, but not too chewy, with strong resiny hops, strong bitterness, a bit pithy in the final.
A bit old style, nut clean; a good job for Vancouver.

Black color with beige head. Not much to say, a Stout by the book, quite dry, with mostly character from heavily roasted malts, some burnt bread too.
Nice.
