Description
All Northern Alchemy beers are entirely natural products. Unfined (no ‘finings’ made from fish swim bladders and therefore suitable for vegans) & unfiltered. This means all of the flavours deliberately chosen for the beers are exactly what the customer should taste. Most of our beers will have a natural haze to them because we don’t subject our beers to these extra processes, in our opinion it’s how beer should be.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Cotteridge, Birmingham, consumed at home Tuesday 7th June 2016 Hazy dark amber with a filmy and sticky head. Citrussy orangey nose, oily and there is a tea also, bitter thrust, wasn’t sure at first but it gets better and there is a clear marmalade thing going on with this. A6 A4 T8 P3 Ov15 3.6

Bottleshare at Lancaster Gate. Thanks to Paul. Hazy yellow - gold beer, bubbly pale cream colour head. Thin dry palate, good fine carbonation. Weird stuff - sherbet, lemon that gets slightly acid, rosemary. Light finish. I like NA’s mad concoctions but this one is jarring.

Bottle shared at Leighton’s place 09/05/2016. Many thanks to paul for this one. A translucent yellow straw coloured pour with a lasting white froth. Aroma is big herbal rosemary savory notes, salty, pithy grapefruit citrus. Flavour is composed of really tart, puckering lemon juice, bitter grapefruit, wheaty, pith. Palate is super sour, uber dry in the finish, critic avid. Herbal notes linger. A little out of balance but interesting enough.

Bottle from Beer Moth. It pours hazy bright gold with a thick, foamy white head. The aroma is big herbal vibe upfront, grassy, green, rosemary, leaves, meaty, smoked bbq vibe and roast chicken crisps! The aroma is crisp, tart mouth - pucker, sour grapefruit, bracing acidity, rosemary, grass and lemon sherbet with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. An odd beer for sure. There is a proper disconnect between aroma and taste, but fun to try.
