500ml bottle into lager glass. Pale yellow beer with towering crown of snow-white foam. Crystal clear with medium carbonation. Nose is distant tinny hops. Clean and refreshing taste, finish is bland euro lager. Very little to distinguish this from any other lager really.

500ml bottle (was a bit past the best before but still plenty of hop character so probably ok). Pours very dark brown. Pine, grapefruit, orange pith, lots of walnuts and hazelnuts in the flavour. Full body. Very nice.

Bottle. Bright amber - almost orange - with a white head. Vibrant aroma (as usual with Epic) with zesty blood orange, passionfruit, dried mango skin, lychees. Carbonation is on the low side of medium which emphasizes the sweet fruit where the tropical meets some sticky bread crust. A punchy aromatic burst at the start of a mouthful is then tamed by a sweetness that gradually gives way to firmish bitterness. Does the hop hash allow it to have lots of sweet tropical fruit without being cloying? I dunno, but it works pretty well.

On tap at the Lumsden (apparently the only keg ever as part of the Lumsden’s birthday celebration). Pours black with a little translucency. Thick body. Figs, cherries, coffee, nutty. Lots of sweet fruit up front, lots of bitter coffee and bitter roasty notes after and then a nice long coffee finish. The coffee and figs take centre stage over the stout but it all blends together outstandingly well. An absolute delight.

500ml bottle. Pours red amber with a fantastic head that falls away in peaks. Peach, mango, grapefruit, orange, caramel, some dry pine notes near the end, a touch of pepper. Good full body. Really nice.

500ml bottle, 2014 release. Pours dark with noticeable carbonation and no head. Plums, figs, chocolate, little coffee, sweet orange marmalade, treacle. Medium body with quite heavy carbonation for the style. Very nice.

500ml bottle. Pours copper with a good head that’s gone quickly. Lots of orange, lots of mango, enough dankness to make me want to say garlic, plenty of caramel, a little melon. Slightly oily texture. Not a bad drop.
