Golden amber with an inch of white head. Lovely aroma of slightly honeyed bread, biscuit, citrus flowers, gooseberries, white grapes. Lightish bodied, low carbonation. Unhappily the hops don’t quite mesh with those nice smelling malts: the taste is of fairly bland hay and biscuit with lots of flowers and a little citrus. Tastes a bit perfumey and the NZ fruitiness that was there in the aroma gets lost. Bitterness is a bit on the low side for me, but it’s resinous and builds after a time.

From old rating. The bottles that came to Sweden seems quite old, lots of the hops had disappeared. The problem with sending the beer halfway around the world and then get stuck at Systembolaget

What. Is. It? Bottle. Pale gold with a white head that leaves nice rings of lace. Aroma of lime leaf, grapefruit, gooseberries, lychees, lemon pudding, hay. Rippling Kiwi hops. Soft texture is maybe a little on thin side. Some crackers and berries support citrus and tropical fruit. Moderate bitterness. Nice but doesn’t live up to that first whiff.

Bottle shared @ Haket during RBScSG. Pours hazy blackish dark brown with a small mocha head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty with roasted malts, dark bread, caramel, Nescafé, cocoa powder, liquorice and moist soil. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter, roasty and malty. Mouthfeel is soft, round, astringent, watery and medium bodied. Finish is bitter with roasted malts, burnt caramel, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate and moist soil. Solid stout... Bit thin...

Bottle from Cotteridge, Birmingham, Friday 19th June 2015 consumed at home Sunday 21st June (Summer Solstice) Warm gold in colour with a filmy white head, slight haze otherwise pretty good clarity. A tropical edge to the nose, also tropical tasting with a little pineapple and mango in the mouth, not overly tropical mind, a jolly good beer but easily bettered in my opinion. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
