Description

Bottle, gift from a friend, BB 02-2015, large sample. Dark brown color, medium frothy off-white head. Aroma of grainy malt, slight spicy, soft roast, caramel, earthy hops. Quite sweet in taste, soft roast, slight bitterness. Ok-ish.

Borefts VI. Day 2. ’Craig has blue nipples’ post fest tasting in his room. Lightly hazy gold beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is light and dry. Very papery malt, kinda Cornflakes. Little floralness and a touch of citrus. Dry finish. Pretty bad.

Bottle split in Craigs room, Borefts Day 2 after party tasting, 27/09/14 thanks to the person who brought this number. Lightly hazed golden orange with a moderate off white covering. Nose is paper, cereals, pale malt, straw, light vanilla essence. Taste comprises light citric notes, straw, grain, pale malt, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so - doesn’t do anything for me.

Tasted from draught at the Beyerd in 2005. Thin, unstable head and golden blonde colour with amber hue, very clear. Aroma of apple, hazelnuts, caramel, but weak and unimpressive. Taste seeks a balance between yeasty fruitiness, malt sweetness and herbal hoppiness, but everything stays a bit shy and doesn’t blend in too well, leaving a rather neutral, yet thirst-quenching beer.

Red-brown colour. There’s a subtle woodiness in the aroma although this doesn’t come through so strongly in the flavour. Tastes similar to a typical Belgian Abbey Dubbel but lighter and easier to drink.

Hazy blond colour with quick receding head. It’s fresh tasting, lightly floral and has a mild honey sweetness. Good session beer.
