355ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with small to average, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, dark beige to tan head. Roasty, chocolately, dark malty and caramel malty aroma, notes of dark toffee, cocoa, dark caramel, some coffee surrogate. Taste is roasty, dark malty and slightly caramel malty with some residual sweetness, bitter hoppy and minimally spicy, notes of milk chocolate, dark chocolate, some toffee, dark caramel, coffee, coffee surrogate, a touch of burnt caramel, toasted nuts; well hidden alcohol.
Slightly creamy texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine, soft carbonation.
Nice and harmonious composition, wide spectrum of well integrated, balanced, (dark) malty flavours - good!

On tap at Jack’s Abby, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma has gentle grassy hops, some herbaceous notes, and bready malt. Flavour is fairly herbaceous and malty, with lots of bready malt, sweet grains, and very low-level herbaceous hops. Pleasantly constructed, solid malt base. Good.

On tap at Jack’s Abby, pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma has some bready malt, light citrusy hops, and a hint of toasted caramel. Flavour is malt-forwarded, with bready malt and toaated caramel, with a tiny kiss of citrusy hops. Nicely balanced. Solid.

On tap at Jack’s Abby, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is soft, with light rice notes and some straw. Flavour is very laid-back, with straw and dry toasted grains. Clean but not much going on here. Meh.

On tap at Jack’s Abby, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is very mellow, with light herbaceous notes—not much else. Flavour is clean and crisp, with some nice bittering grassy hops and crisp biscuity malt. Crisp, clean finish. Pleasant basic lager.
