Description
The history of BrewBaker began back in 2005 - with a small, fine restaurant with its own brewery at Bellevue S-Bahn station. After a few intermediate stops, we set up shop with BGM Berliner Getränkeemanufaktur GmbH in Sickingenstrasse in Moabit from 2013 to May 2019. BGM and Brewbaker have been going separate ways since June 2019. With immediate effect, living beers UG will take over the marketing of Brewbaker. A new production facility is being planned.

Bottle. Caramel, chocolate, licorice and salt inj the nose. Creamy mouthfeel. Full bodied. Malty sweet, salty flavor with licorice, coffee and caramel. Tasty, but not very complex and refined. Starts to gain sourness, so bottling perhaps needs improvement.

Bottle. Grainy apple aroma. Lemon. Hay. Sour and totally dry. Apple sourness. Lemon. Even has some body in spite of its 2.5% ABV. Long finish. Excellent old school Berliner Weisse.

0.75 l bottle from 'Hopfenrausch', best before 2035, cellared for almost three years. Clear, amber with a medium large, a bit fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. Slightly sweetish, sourish, gently fruity and a bit funky aroma of lemon, apples, some rhubarb and a touch of horse blanket. Minimally sweet, gently sour, rather fruity and a little funky taste of rhubarb, apples, some lemon and traces of horse blanket, followed by a short, gently tart, rather dry and minimally funky finish. Thin to medium body, gently astringent and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Pleasant, mellow Berliner Weisse with a touch of funk, way better than their regular one. I wonder whether there is any difference between the different vintages.

26-02-19 // taster at Brauhaus Neulich in Berlin at a bottle share with the team and brewer of the brewpub. The body is to light and boring. Chili dosage is perfect for balance but unfortunately body can’t keep up. Minimal coffee in aftertaste.
