500 ml bottle. Dark amber, close to black body with a really huge off-white head that seems to last forever and make pouring a bit difficult. Aroma has mild roasted, dark malt, toast and hint of acidic fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet, dark malt, light roasted, toast, acidic fruit and some Brett’ish infection. Medium to a bit thin body with a medium aftertaste that leaves no doubt regarding infection. A decent, mild porter with some degree of infection, not bad at this stage and totally drinkable for the one who likes sour beers. But I’m convinced that this is not the intention of this beer, and just a matter of timing before it gets really bad. Looking forward to try another batch.

Bottle. A jet black beer topped by a dense, two-finger beige colored head soon collapsing. Roasted malts, coffee and a solid piney, orangey hoppyness in the aroma. Lots of coffee and roasted malts in the flavor too, some chocolate notes, and a nice hoppy and roasted malt bitterness. It’s a bit heavy on the carbonation, it’s more or less full-bodied, semi-dry, and with a nice roasted malts and coffe dominated finish. Quite lovely this one, except for the carbonation level. 151011

Poured from a bottle with a best by date of 06/16/2017. Aroma is light roast and chocolate with some toasted bread and caramel. Anise, cola and and other spice notes are also noticeable. Light dark fruit esters. A bit of a poopy aroma as well. Pours dark brown with a large, frothy, fairly thick, tan head that slowly falls into itself. High lacing and small legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with some roast and chocolate notes. Some raisin, toasted bread, caramel and figs. Some cola and anise notes, but lighter than in the aroma while the fruit notes are stronger. Medium light bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied and somewhat watery with medium high to high carbonation. Medium low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, not a great porter. Weird spicy phenolics notes, too much fruit esters, a bit poopy in the aroma. A bit astringent and watery.

Huge lasting beige head. Clear deep reddish brown body with light carbonation. Earthy herbal aroma with floral funky notes. Dry earthy funky taste with cold coffee notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, chalky mouthfeel. Dry earthy funky aftertaste with salty notes. I’m probably going to finish the bottle, but I’m pretty sure this is not what they intended to brew. Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy light amber with white head. Aroma of pine needles, grapefruits, caramel. Tastes slightly sweet, well balanced. Could be a bit more bitter.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 14.09.15. Almost clear pale orange. Off-white head and lacing. Marmelade, citrus and pale malt in aroma. Similar taste, with dry citrus zest and decent bitterness.

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy golden with white head. Aroma of flowers, citrus, grapefruit, tropical fruits. Tastes bitter, thin bodied. Highly carbonated.

Share bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 14.09.15. Hazy golden. Off-white head. Decent aroma of citrus and fresh wort of pale malt. Similar taste, with zest bitterness. Decent drinkability.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Malts are pale, Munich, Vienna and crystal. Hops are Perle, Cascade, Columbus, Centennial and Citra. Slightly hazy golden colour, large white head. Strong aroma of citrussy hops, also hints of pine and spruce. Soft mouthfeel. Light bodied. Medium dry flavour, well hopped, notes of grapefruit, pine needles and resin. Fairly bitter aftertaste.
