Description
Attic Brew Co. was borne out of years of beer consumption and small scale production. Oli and Sam met at university in Cardiff where their beer obsession began. Sam began brewing in his bedroom of their shared house and continued after graduating, moving back to Birmingham and setting up his home brewery in his attic.
In 2018, after they'd had the ridiculous idea to start a brewery, Oli left his job in London and moved to Birmingham. They took out a loan, rented a run down old industrial unit in Stirchley and bought a small brew kit that was older than they were. Several months of painting, building and, finally, brewing, allowed them to open the taproom doors on the 23rd November 2018.
Attic was greeted with an unbelievable show of support from local drinkers, who bought into their varied beer board and new take on the traditional local (editors note; we continue to be indebted to you all

Cask at the Head of Steam, Birmingham. Poured a mostly clear reddish amber colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is herbal, yeasty. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a smooth, earthy, herbal, dry, vinous, mineral, oaky, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Draught keg at Tønne, Leicester. Dark, dark brown and mostly opaque witha tiny ring of tan head. Aroma of chocolate and hazelnut and a little marshmallow. Taste is sweet with a little bit of bitterness - not well balanced but at least cuts the sweetness - at the finish.medium body with softer carbonation. Not bad.

Keg draught at Tønne, Leicester. Lovely light gold, a greenish hue maybe. Hazy with a ring of white head. Plenty of apricot in the aroma, vanilla malt, light berry. The taste doesn't disappoint. Balanced and sweet with biscuity notes and sweaty stone fruit. Light tropical fruit in the finish. Watery body but the intense carbonation brings it home. Great stuff.
