3rd October 2022 Can. This edition - Pilgrim, Olicana, Jester and Harlequin hops. A mild haze on this yellowish gold beer, decent bubbly pale cream colour head. Some Harlequin skunk on the nose. Palate is light and has a pleasing light minerally crispness. Smooth light pale malts deliver just the right amount of creamy sweetness. The quartet of Brit Hops sing here - soft pine into a nice lemony fruitiness that has a vague and soft orchard fruit undertone. Harlequin skunk follows the nose but only really shows up on the back end and is well rounded and well integrated. The airy crispy finish reveals a mild but tingling hop spice and emphasises the soft pear like quality of the hops along with very mild but delightful bramble jamminess. Exceedingly good job. I do wish more brewers would stop automatically reaching for Citra and Mosaic and think about old Blighty hops. When used right, like they are here, they are a delight and quite different from their US cousins (whom I love...).

Draft at Cherry Reds, Birmingham. Poured a murky reddish brown colour with a thin broken off-white head. The aroma is malt and blackberries. The flavour is moderate sour, light sweet, with a crisp, fresh, biscuit malt, sweet strawberry, blackberry, light vanilla palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Tasty, but too much for a session.

Keg @ Tap and Can. Misty pale gold appearance, good white head. Crisp cutting fruity wares with a drying bitterness. Fairly simplistic but refreshing enough.

Keg @ Tap and Can. Misty gold pour, small white head. Lacks a piney, resinous, dank west coast profile.. comes across more like a standard golden pale with mild pithy fruit suggestions.

Keg @ Tap and Can. Hazed deep red appearance, thin pinkish white head. Nice red berry nose, nice pippy berry expressions on the palate, measured sour edge. Zero coffee notes coming through, and zero funky cocoa so would have to mark down slightly. But a nice fruity sour all the same.

Keg draught at Sommar Leicester. Light yellow and hazy with a thin white head.sweet gentle aroma, fresh cantaloupe and some papaya and mango. Tastes sweet with a gentle yet sturdy biscuity malt. Lots and lots of melon. Gentle tinge of bitterness on the finish. Full body for the ABV with light carbonation. Love this.

Cloudy pale gold with a small bubbly white head and a slightly stewed fruit aroma. Has a nice smack of fruity bitterness and hints of dank hops, very smooth and refreshing

Keg draught at Tønne, Leicester. Dark murky gold, impenetrably hazy. Thing ring of white white head leaves lots of lacing. Orchard and citrus in the big fruity aroma. The Taste is so much more complex with a bit malt presence competing and collaborating with the apricot, pear drop and pineapple notes. Thick body, medium carbonation. A winner of an amped IPA.
