Description
Inspired by the landscape, culture, and the abundance of fruit in the North West, AVID Cider Company, a family run business, is dedicated to creating hard cider using sustainably sourced and local ingredients. AVID Cider Co. was founded as a result of the dissatisfaction with the lack of variety and excessively dry or cloyingly sweet ciders available in the market place in 2013. We saw the opportunity to create hard cider that better balances the elements of a flavor profile, and satiates our thirst for a cider that is “just right.”

Admin Note: Formerly known as Atlas Cider Company, the owners were forced to change the name to AVID Cider Company in 2018.

Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours more perry color than gold cider. NIce crisp/dry apple aroma. Med minus body. Flavor is apple, but not all that dry. Certainly drinkable, but a bit thin on apple flavor. Something just is not hitting me ideally with this.

Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours near perry color with only a few bubbles. Aroma is more dry plum wine than anything else that comes to mind. Med minus body. Flavor is sort of white wine with stone fruit. It is astringent enough to be labeled tart, but sour is nowhere in it. Light honey sweet would be more appropriate. Definitely tart. Not my kind of apricot. Very complicated play of dry, tart/astringent/sweet. Certainly very different, and not in a bad way.

Bomber from Made in Oregon. Opened with a gusher. Aroma of blackberry jam in the air. Poured really dark purple (strong light) with a fizzy/foamy red berry head. Aroma is the blackberry I associate with jam. Med body. Flavor is an odd mix of sweet and tart. In fact it’s rather astringent as the liquid drains away. Gets somewhat earthy in the finish. Very unusual stuff.

Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours coppery rose with a few white bubbles. Aroma of apples with cherry hint. Med body or nearly. Flavor is rather crisp apple/apple skin. Not wholly dry, but dry enough. Cherry flavor comes and goes. Develops noticeable cherry with time. Drinkable.

On tap at Tugboat, pours amber with a small beige head. Aroma is sickly sweet, with syrupy blackberries. Flavour is about the same, with sickly syrupy artificial berries. This is horrific. Sickly sweet. Garbage.

Light, pale, and fizzy. Mild apple nose and taste. Light alcohol in the finish. Fairly standard American pub cider.
