Description
Skreach is an old West Country word for cider which seems appropriate as I use a mixture of apples from Cornish and West Country orchards. All our cider is made from freshly pressed apples – NEVER concentrate! – here in St Buryan. The juice is fermented and then blended, to make a medium and a dry cider.

My aim is to produce a quality still cider on a small scale, that drinks as well by the fireside in winter as it does on a summer’s day in the garden.

Tap @ Gurnards Head, Cornwall. Rather clear golden without any head. Both aroma and flavor of ripe apples, distinct cellar notes, dry finish and low on acidity. Nice and rather rustic style that gives me some kind of feeling from ripe apples and apples falling of the trees.

Panda courtesy of mR_fr0g, cheers Fergus! Hazy orangey gold colour, bubbly white head that dissipates away and aroma of fruity apple fleshy, orchardy, alittle meaty funk. Taste is sweet, apple, fruity, bittersweet, orchardy, funky, with some drying tannins. Medium bodied, light carbonation, dry mellow tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

Panda at home, thanks to Fergus, 24/06/22. Very lightly hazed golden orange with a thin white cap. Nose is bitter sweet apple, light herb, hedgerow, tannins. Taste comprises crisp apple, subtle honey, caramelised apples, vinous. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Decent ... don't let the honey in the title put you off if its not your bag ... just the merest hint of Pooh bear heaven.

BIAB pour from the apple barn near lizard point. A light hazed golden orange coloured pour with a loose halo of white head. Aroma is semi sweet, tangy apple, bark, twist of citrus, sharp funk. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, rounded mealy apple, fresh juice, low wheaty tannin. Some vague sweetness, but no real honey flavours. Palate is semi sweet, to drying finish, almost still, light prickly. Decent.
