Tripel, me reet. Dit is meer een bloemige golden barley wine. Is het vies? Nee, zeker niet. Maar een RIS een tripel noemen is niet heel ver weg. Amerikanen hebben gewoon geen idee. Uiteraard dikke minpunten omdat het geen tripel is. Hehehe.

Can at home shared with Caesar. Unclear orange color, small to average sized white head. Smell and taste malts, sweetish, quite sugary with a lot of residual sugars it seems. Hmm not great.

Leheletnyit édeskés, közepesen testes, enyhén szénsavas, közepesen keserű. Nagyon finom sör, remek egyensúllyal. Folyékony csokis süti.

(500ml bottle from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours nearly opaque dark brown with a small pale tan head and no lace. Aroma of torrified malt, dark caramel, chocolate, nutella, toasted nutty roast, light bourbon vanilla and wood overtones, some spirit. Flavour is sweet up start with dark toffee and caramel torrified malt tones, maybe even maple syrup, some nutty roast, wood, soft bourbon and vanilla, moderate hazelnut. In the middle the malt peaks and it's a bit sweet and straightforward, but drying wood, heavy roasted hazelnut and nutty, toasty roast with cacao and coffee hits makes for a nice finish with soft bourbon overtones. A bit thin and light bodied for style with soft carbonation and some exposed alcohol. Not a perfect ASA but a good one, with more body it would have been superb.

Un intense Bourbon aux notes caramélisées et mélassées nous introduit un olfactif très malté et alcoolisé. Douceurs de toffee, de moka avec une touche de noisette et de chocolat. Le liquide est brun foncé, limpide avec des reflets roux, développant une forte effervescence et se couvrant d’une bonne mousse persistante. L’alcool est très chaleureux dès l’entrée de bouche et laisse par la suite se développer les tons de noisettes grillées pourtant presque absentes de l’olfactif. Mélasse et caramel sont également des notes fortes Les saveurs sucrées sont très puissantes mais s’agencent superbement bien au Bourbon. Les houblons sont peu prononcés mais combinés à l’alcool laissent une impression épicée en fin de bouche. Sucré et alcool persistent également en finale. Le corps est bien charpenté avec une certaine viscosité propre aux styles impériaux vieillis en barrique. La carbonation est bien dosée; juste pour y apporter un léger piquant. Aux amateurs de bières chaleureuses et sucrées, elle s’avèrera un délice.
