330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, brown-ish red colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Slightly spicy and fruity, yeasty aroma, notes of aniseed, some banana, raisin, clove, a touch of cherry, caramel malty background. Taste is sweet, caramel malty, alcoholic, minimally sugary, slightly fruity and minimally spicy yeasty, hints of raisin, cherry, aniseed, a touch of clove, banana; warming alcoholic finish with a touch of plum wine. OK.

4 November 2019. At 2Be, Bruges. Shared with the lovely Anke! Pours clear golden with a big, lasting, foamy, white head; irregular lacing. Aroma of yeast, breadcrust, apple peel, mandarin, banana, winegum, bit of wet cloth. Taste is medium fruity sweet, estery banana & apple, quite a yeasty & bready feel, accent of sourish citrus, some spices & grass for bitter balance. Dry, yeasty, grassy hoppy finish, more ripe apple, spices, slightly warming gin-like alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Not that bad as a house beer for a very touristy venue, but it still checks the cliché boxes.

Blinde Mol ou Blinde Flop? Blonde relativement simple, elle nous présente des arômes très particuliers entre herbes et vin blanc. Pas très amateur pour ma part. Peut-être certains en seront plus friands, mais même en ne prenant pas en compte cet aspect qui pourrait être subjectif, cette Maenhout ne propose rien de passionnant. Le visuel est sur un blond orangé limpide avec une mousse blanc cassé nappant juste la surface. Le nez est frais, sur le vin blanc, le raisin, le pain, les herbes et de légères épices. L'attaque est également fraîche. L'alcool est tout de même surprenant, faisant davantage que ses 6,5%. Des arômes de vin blanc, raisin, herbes et coriandre complètent le tableau. La deuxième bouche est quasi linéaire sur les arômes (un peu de poivre en plus) tout en devenant un peu plus douce et un alcool qui se renforce. Ce dernier se renforce d'ailleurs encore en arrière-bouche. Le final nous laisse sur un petit élancement sur l'amertume. Longueur et corpulences sont honorables. Cette bière me laisse dubitative.

Bottle. Pinkish Amber color. Malt, toffee, dried red fruit in the aroma. Malty sweet, nutty flavor with dried fruit, toffee, hints of roast and rubber. Alcoholic. Decent.

Many thanks for this beer to Dariusz Sokol. Mocno alkoholowe piwo, nadmiernie slodkie, barwa ciemno miedziana, piana srednio i srednio trwala. Za slodki i dominujacy profil.

Gekocht in de Prik&Tik Bierhandel De Picker in Zele op 23-05-2019. En thuis geproefd op 2-08-2019. Ferre Quadrupel is een kastanje kleurig biertje dat bij het uitschenken een normale hoeveelheid gebroken wit schuim produceert in de vorm van een gelijkmatige laag. Het blijft sterk aan de glaswand kleven maar daarna zakt het in elkaar tot een dun laagje. Er is een middelmatige CO2 pareling te zien met belletjes van een gemiddelde grootte.
HET AROMA:
Honing en karamel-zoet, banaan, rozijn, geroosterde en koffiemout en een alcohol toets.
DE SMAAK:
Is weer honing en karamel-zoet, met een geroosterde tint, wat koffiemout en een rum-achtige alcohol toets.
HET MONDGEVOEL:
Ferre Quadrupel heeft een volle body in petto met een licht olieachtige textuur en een normale koolzuur prikkeling. Een licht complex biertje.
DE NASMAAK:
Vloeit lang uit, is licht bitterig met honing en karamel, wat koffiemout, een licht pepertje en een rum-achtige alcohol toets.
HET VERDICT:
Lekkere quadruppel waar alles in zit maar niets overdreven is.
