Description
Brewery Faisan is bringing beer making back to the Islandview neighborhood on the very street where beer was historically brewed in Detroit. Located on a quiet industrial stretch with a wooded area across the street, 1087 Beaufait Street offers the feeling of being Up North in the city. Following the path of an old rail line further north about 2 miles on Beaufait Street, the old moniker for Pfeiffer Brewing Company, closed in the 1960s, can still be seen on a warehouse face.
Brewery Faisan is a microbrewery and taproom with a focus on Belgian-Style beers. Guests will be invited to enjoy snacks, food truck fare, or bring in food from other businesses while they enjoy the beer in the 2,000 square foot taproom with a view of the 4,000 square foot production brewing space.
Paul & Rachel look forward to serving you soon!

Draft at Faisan. Pours a clear copper orange with a full finger of white foam. Pine, caramel and grapefruit aromas abound. More of the same on the palate, but not overly sweet or cloying. Dry finish with more pine and citrus pith. Very crushable.

Can from Holiday Market. Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of brown head that dissipates. Anthology is one of my favorite coffee roasters in the US, so I was very stoked to see them collab with Detroit newcomer Brewery Faisan. Big coffee focused nose with dark chocolate, plum and cherry stone aromas. Toffee, chocolate, roasted coffee all on the palate. Slightly thin body with a lingering coffee flavor and cacao nib note. Really nice coffee stout.

Can from Holiday Market. Pours a clear, deep gold with a finger of white foam that lingers. Lots of bitter hops on the nose with pine really standing out. Slightly watery on the palate with lots of overboiled hop notes leaving the beer quite astringent. Bitter finish with some light grainy kolsch texture notes but overall just too astringent and bitter.

Crowler shared at Fury of a Feast share. Thanks Brad! Pours a clearish straw gold with a small white head. Lovely witbier nose with clove, coriander seed and light peppercorn aromas. A touch of banana ester as it warms, but the flavors are all well-balanced. No added spice here, all yeast. A touch sweet with a drying finish. Looking forward to trying more from Detroit's newest brewery.
