Description
Folklore abounds in the marketing of Skinner’s Cornish beers, which were first supped in 1997. Steve Skinner heads a successful Cornish business whose beers are seen throughout the county and nationwide too via good wholesale distribution. Countless barrels and hundreds of awards later, our brewery has grown but remains a family business rooted in the area we live and work, whether that’s doing our bit for our corner of the planet, enjoying a bit of surfing or having a go at some shanty-singing.. The brewery has a 25-barrel plant, a good beer shop and well presented visitor centre.
In early 2023 taken over by Goodh Brewing.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet fruity and malty. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, leading to a dry slightly bitter finish, that also has a vegetable note lingering.

Bottle, 4.2%. Vinous and weakly plasticky aroma. Hazy golden colour, a few strange-looking floaties. Weak fruity flavour, some grass and cardboard vegetable.

Bottle, thx to fonefan. It pours a slightly hazy, almost golden beer with some white bubbles excuse for a head. Citrusy, piney aroma on a malty, butterscotchy base. Pleasant citrusy and piney flavor with hay, flowers and some bitterness. Not much maltyness. Medium body. Fruity, citrusy and quite bitter finish. Medium body. A quite boring beer, but nothing wrong with it. Quite refreshing and quenching, but boring. (080822)

Bottle, thx to fonefan. It is a clear, orange-golden beer with a thin lid of off-white bubbles on top. Citrusy and malty aroma with butterscotch. Citrusy on the palate, medium body and flavors of butterscotch. Some bitterness in the finish. A decent citrusy beer, but I would prefer the butterscotch to be removed. Drinkable though. (080822)

(Cask at GBBF, London, 7 Aug 2008) Golden yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity nose with citrus, grapefruit and a clean malt profile. Fruity taste with notes of citrus, pineapple, clean and solid malt with balanced sweetness, leading to a finish with citrussy hops. Nice balance between hops and malt. Nice beer.
